ABOUT US
Centre for Studies in International Relations (CSIR) is a Research Centre / Institute that focuses on Indian cultural and civilizational linkages with the world. It strives to address global challenges with the vision of a new India and intends to do so by drawing on philosophical insights, historical experience, and the rich heritage of India. Apart from encouraging an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the world politics, the CSIR would facilitate scholarly engagement in theory-oriented studies and policy-relevant analysis. Furthermore, it will provide real-time advice to the decision-makers with the objective that the country’s foreign policy practices reflect distinctive ways of seeing and knowing the world. Above all, CSIR aims to train and nurture the young IR scholars with long-term issues concerning the historical, philosophical, and axiological foundations of the Indic perspective.
OBJECTIVE(S) OF CSIR
The objectives of the Centre are as under:
- To study International Relations by applying the methodology, tools and practices drawing on a diverse range of Indic perspective on International Relations.
- To create a nationwide network of scholars and collaborate with institutions working in the area of IR.
- To encourage studies on cultural, economic, social, political, security, environmental issues, and other fields related to International Relations and Indian Foreign policy.
- To provide internships to young scholars and conduct academic training programmes, workshops, seminars/conferences, etc., to develop a distinct understanding of International Relations.
